On this wide-ranging 14-day small group tour, travel from city to country and back, seeing history and legend come to life and enjoying Great Britain’s timeless hospitality. During a three-night stay in stately Edinburgh, visit Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and Holyrood, and explore independently. Attend a performance of the famed Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Traveling to England’s beloved Lake District, spend two nights on Lake Windermere’s shores. 

Cruise on the idyllic lake and visit William Wordsworth’s grammar school. With the next two nights in North Wales, touring includes historic Bodnant Garden, Conwy Castle, and a scenic train ride through Eryri National Park. Returning to England, discover Shakespeare’s Birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. Experience the postcard-perfect Cotswolds region and spend two nights in storied Bath. After stops at enigmatic Stonehenge and Windsor Castle, encounter London’s celebrated landmarks during a two-night stay. Enjoy this world capital independently with an optional 3-day/2-night post-tour extension.

Below are physical expectations required to fully enjoy the journey. We, and the tour operator, are happy to discuss the physical needs of this trip to ensure the best fit. Should you reserve space, be sure to share with the tour operator physical accommodations you may need i.e. cpap machine, hearing aid for listening device, special medicine, etc.

  • Each excursion on the tour has an activity level assigned to it. Please reference the brochure for each excursion's activity level
  • Mild: Walk under 1 mile on mainly flat etrrain; navigate under 50 stairs; stand under 1 hour
  • Moderate: Walk 1-3 miles on mainly flat/uneven terrain; navigate 50-100 stairs; stand 1-2 hours
  • Active: Walk 2+ miles on flat/uneven terrain including up and down inclines; navigate 100+stairs; stand 3+ hours
